My name is Ron Wilkinson and I live in Draper, UT. I love researching and exploring areas with historical interest or just local lore, 4wheeling, camping, etc. I got a metal detector for Christmas and trying to navigate the legal do's and don't of metal detecting. I plan on becoming a member of TIA, but will hold off for a few months. I will be going in for surgery and off work for a couple of months. I hope to be able to contribute and learn at the same time.

Hello Ron and Peter! I saw your post and I thought I would chime in with a little information.

Ron, I lived in Draper for a while and I really like the area. I moved to St. George to escape the snow lol. Here is some links to metal detecting in Utah. Remember, the laws are sometimes hard to understand and not every clear. If you need help, just reach out...

I saw your comment about becoming a member, I've been working on this today and you'll be the first to see it:
